Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
At the name of Jesus, every person who has drawn breath will bow and confess that Jesus is Lord. In the passage above it says "should bow" and "should confess" but in Isaiah 45:23 and Romans 14:11 the Word says "shall bow". There is no greater nor higher name given than the name "Jesus". It means saviour. It is a name much hated and much adored. It is a name by which some worship and some curse.
It is the name by which the angels in heaven bow and it is the name by which Satan will one day bow. Kings will prostrate themselves before this once lowly servant. Pilate will look at his hands and see the blood would not wash off (Matt. 27:24). Felix will fall to his knees before this man called Jesus and wish he had not waited for a more convenient season (Acts 24:25) which never came.
In Isaiah 9:6 we are given the names "Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." The name Jesus is higher than all these titles. No name nor titles is placed above the name of Jesus and yet God has chosen in His wisdom to place something above the name of Jesus.
Unbelievable? Not if you believe the Bible. Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Do you want to know how high God holds his Word? He holds it to be above "all thy name". Jehovah, I Am, Jesus, Yahweh, Alpha, Omega, El Shaddai etc., what ever you know or call God by the name of, He has placed His Word above all His name. If this is true then why is it that so many take offense at the Word of God. Why are God's people so often derisively called "Bible Thumpers"? Why are so many Bibles collecting dust instead of being read and cherished?
You say you love God. You pray to the Father in Heaven in the name of Jesus expecting Him to hear you yet you lay aside His words to you. Words that speak to you! Preachers often from today's pulpits preach homilies instead of the pure Word of God. Why? Is it because many don't know the Word of God?
It is appalling at the ignorance among Christendom of God's holy Word. Men will take the word of scientists, geologists, biologists and The National Geographic Society concerning the origin of this world and it's occupants over the Bible. They will worry over "global warming" or "global cooling" rather than believe what the Bible says. These "Chicken Littles" worry about the world starving from crop failures and the like but the Bible says: "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." (Genesis 8:22)
You say you believe in God and trust Jesus? How about trusting His Word. After all, He does!

I am using my Bible for a roadmap
It tells me the way I should go
When I need directions in my life
It tells me all I need to know
The Bible is not the book of the month
It stands alone as the Book of Ages
Unique in the history of mankind
Absolute truth is found in its pages
When life deals me an uncertain hand
It is to this precious Book I always turn
Seeking to find tranquility and assurance
Written there for me to study and learn
God recorded a solution to every problem
In the Bible, His holy, written Word
I will hearken to all its instructions
With its truths my character I will gird
I am using my Bible for a roadmap
Focused intently on salvation’s road
No bypasses and detours I will take
