One by one they took
His garments
But failed to take
What they’d really need
Dividing His coat and raiment--
Dark hearts engaged only
In a wicked, useless deed.
They should have taken His Word
As this was freely given
And with the Bread of Life
Begin to feed,
For it is only with this sacred seed
Planted firmly in tender,hungry hearts
Where Hope eternal can be received.
