PRAYER
By Thomas Kittrell
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 (KJV)
There's no way of knowing on this earth how many times we have been put under God's special protection or blessed because of the prayers of another.
Likewise we do not know how someone else's life has been affected because of our prayers. Our mothers pray for us, so do our dads. We pray for our children, and they pray for us. We have prayer circles at church. We form prayer lists. Why? Because prayer is our direct communication with our Heavenly Father for one thing. We pray because we have a need. We may need special help or direction or understanding. We may need encouragement. We may just want to say thank you to the Heavenly Father for what He has already done.
However, we do not pray for ourselves alone. Jesus prayed for His disciples and He prayed for all of us who believe in Him since. We must follow His example and pray for one another. Maybe there's a friend in trouble, or a child sick. Maybe there's a pastor who is discouraged, sibling who is hurting, or someone else we want to reach out and touch God in prayer for. Prayer is effective, and it must be fervent. It comes from the mouth only after it is formed in the heart; this makes it genuine. Finally, we must pray according to God's will. To know God's will we must live according to God's will.

The Power, The Power that is Prayer
By: Carl Coglianese (Ephraim Calib)
The Power of prayer
An intimate connection with God
Our daily conversation
Becomes a special relationship with God
To teach a child
So early to pray
Sets them to know God
So early in their day
Start out simple
Yes this is so true
Tell God how much you Love Him
Thank Him every day that you do
Then tell Him every day
What's been going on
And even tell Him
When you have done something wrong
Parents, please teach your children
Teach them right from wrong
Tell them that the Father will always love them
Even when they do wrong
Teach them never to fear The Father
Teach them while they are young
Teach them to talk to God Daily
Teach them to do this life long
As Christians we all ready know to begin to teach our children to know and love The Father and The Son Jesus. Begin early and give them a strong foundation to grow. Give them the Gift of Jesus. God bless our children give them everything Christ centered as soon as you can.

God Knows -- Poem on Prayer by Stephen Monday
Sometimes the Spirit, moves us to pray
We speak our hearts, out loud
For when we remember, what was said
We are surprised, by what came out
The Spirit knows, the things we need
So we pray, aloud to GOD
Somehow the words, convey to HE
Ideas yet, thought about
That's praying in the spirit
The bible mentions it
GOD knows, when he does hear it
What our hearts desire of HIM
CHRIST is, our intercessor
As he abides in us
To speak to our creator
We use the name of JESUS
Sometime it's praise, our voice will raise
Other times, we speak, a need
But when we pray, this way, we've said
That we love, our LORD, indeed!
And so, our spirit, prays, and says
The feelings, that we show
For by our words, some things occurs
That only, GOD, would KNOW!
