Rainy Days

Rain
Sparkling, clear
Christening everything far and near
dancing on ponds
droplets on fronds
Every once in a while
We can feel
What is real
When the skies open up
Filling our cup
Our thirst is quenched
And the grounds...drenched.

Rain
From above us
Is always welcomed
by crops and trees
and children splashing
in  playful puddles
getting soaked -
up to their knees
Then... as time goes by
will  quietly disappear.

Like a faithful friend
rain brings a smile
and even if she doesn't
return for a while
the memories of
such blessed days
remain in our heart
with a prayer to God
of thanks and praise.
